Our chemical peel selection at The SKN Lab is very diverse and can be used on the most sensitive of skin. We have very superficial peels that offer light exfoliation for a subtle glow or deeper peel options to target resurfacing the skin and pulling out deep stubborn pigment. It is best to consult with one of our team members to ensure you are choosing the peel that is best for you and you take the proper steps pre and post treatment.

Not all peels will result in skin "peeling" or flaking. Peeling and flaking is not the sign of an effective peel. Everyperson reacts differently. It is not uncommon for skin to be dry or itchy in areas following a peel. For more superficial peels your skin may not have a visible reaction, that does not mean the peel is not effective. Newer technology in peels allows less downtime while still providing an effective treatment. The more advanced, deep peels will likely lead to a skin reaction like dryness, peeling, flaking. This is good and a necessary step in acheiving the desired results.
AFTERCARE: Depending on the depth of your peel, after care instructions could change. Follow the instructions given to you by your esthetician.
- Avoid: excessive sweating, hot showers/baths, makeup, and chlorine/swimming for the remainder o fthe day following your appointment
- Generally, non-comedogenic makeup can be worn shortly after your chemical peel.
- Minimal to no sun exposure
- Apply SPF 30+
- Cleanse face with cool water in the evening using gentle cleanser
- No picking flaking/shedding skin
- NO Retinol or Retinoid products for 5 days (AlphaRet Overnight) post peel
- No physical exfoliation (scrubs) 5 days
- Avoid possible irritating ingredients for 5 days (AHAs/BHAs- glycolic, lactic, salicylic acids)
- Should not perform facial waxing for 48 hours
